Summer Tip: Aloe Vera for Sunburn

Since it’s summer and you ought to stay under the sun most of the time,  chances are good you’ll get sunburned. Sunburn is a very painful problem that needs immediate treatment. But then again, prevention is better than cure so please, don’t forget your sunscreen!

Anyhoo, you only need one natural ingredient to soothe that pain: Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera  has a powerful healing and antibacterial properties. It is because of the aloectin B which stimulates the immune system and makes them act fast on the affected parts of your body. If you don’t have an aloe vera plant at home (but I strongly suggest that you plant one now)  aloe vera gel can also be found in health food stores. These gels are also widely used by hospitals for burn victims.

1. Snip off one of the leaves pf aloe vera plant

2. Refrigerate for 30 mins.

3. Squeeze off the gel from the leaf and apply on your sunburnt skin

4. Don’t forget to moisturize your damaged skin all throughout the day

  1. Aloe vera is a succulent plant species that probably native plant originated in northern Africa. The species does not have any naturally occurring populations, although closely related aloes do occur in northern Africa.
