My Daily Face Moisturizers: Nivea Creme and Myra Vitaglow Tinted Moisturizer
Only a few people includes moisturizers as part of their daily routine. What they don’t know its that our skin needs moisture for it to stay healthy and young. Dry, rough, and/or cracked skin are mainly caused by the lack of moisture. Common products and other factors such as soap, cosmetics, humid and even hot water can cause dry skin in the face and so, daily moisturizing is needed.
Regular use of moisturizer keeps your skin soft and helps it avoid age spots, premature wrinkles, and fine lines. That is why I make sure that moisturizing is part of my daily regimen. I strongly suggest that all girls should do it too.
You must be careful in choosing your moisturizer though. Some commercial products may contain harmful or strong ingredients that could cause further skin problems.
Moreover, I want to share to you the face moisturizers I am currently using and my honest review about it.
Night Cream: Nivea Creme in Tin Can
I remember seeing this product in my mom’s stash when I was still a kid. This blue tin tab has been around for like, forever! I never thought that I would use it myself later on. So what made me consider trying this good ol’ product?
Well, when I first learned about the importance of daily moisturizing, I did a research on the best product available in the market. Of course, most of the good reviews I read recommend high-end products such as Neutrogena, Clinique, Yves Saint Laurent and the like. I went to the nearest Watson’s and got myself frustrated with the sky-high prices of these recommended products. Because I didn’t bring enough money that time and I was really decided to start moisturizing my skin, I proceed checking the other products available. There I noticed the familiar blue tin tab and surprised myself when I checked its price.

As compared to other moisturizing products, it’s really cheap. The 60ml cost me around 70.00php only while the Neutrogena I was originally eyeing on costs around 800.00php.
I was so excited so I started using it that night before I sleep. The first thing I loved about Nivea Creme is its clean, mild floral scent. It adds to the refreshing feeling right after you shower. I was turned off by the greasy feeling at first though I expected it already since the cream is really pure and thick. My face was covered with white layer of cream and so I think that this cannot be used as a day moisturizer. I decided to wait for a while before I sleep to see its effect. I was surprised to see my face after a few minutes because the white cream layer is gone as well as the greasy feeling! It only felt wet and dewy. It means that my skin really absorbed the product. I wiped the remaining cream off the parts of my face which are usually dry to see if it is indeed effective and hooray! My skin felt so soft and smooth..:) And so I reapplied the cream again and dozed off. I woke up the next day with a soft, smooth and moisturized skin. For the first time, my skin in the face felt really healthy. Right then and there, I decided to use it regularly as my night cream.
I tried using it as my day moisturizer but I was right, I couldn’t use it because I have to wait for it to dry which is not wise considering that I go to work really early and I have to move fast. Yet, I highly recommend this product as a night face moisturizer. I tried using it for my lips and hands as well and as expected, it makes them feel soft and smooth. Plus tip: Nivea Creme can also be used as a make-up remover. Just apply it on the part with make up and wipe off with a cotton or tissue. It is very effective especially on tough ones like mascara and eyeliner..:)
With its quality and price, Nivea Creme is truly a good catch. Now I understand why this is such a timeless product. ^_^
Day Cream: Myra Vitaglow Tinted Moisturizer
So, I couldnt use Nivea Creme as a day moisturizer, but according to dermatologists, moisturizing during the day is so important because exposure to sun and pollutants is one of the major causes of dry skin. That is why I have to look for another good product that I can use during the day. Again I did a research, this time I searched for an effective and at the same time, affordable face moisturizer. During that time, BB (Blemish Balm) cream is on its peak of popularity, thanks to Kpop phenomenon. BB cream is a thin tinted cream which provides coverage like a liquid foundation. It conceals all dark spots, blemishes and other discoloration. Aside from that, it also provides moisture to the skin. Who would not go crazy about this product, right?
However, as I was reading reviews about it, I learned that BB creams are usually light-tinted, as it was originally formulated for Koreans who have naturally fair skin. It may look awkward for people who have medium-skin tone. Good thing, local cosmetic and skin-care brands started to create BB cream-like products which are suitable for Filipino skin. One of which, is from the trusted brand, Myra, and they called it Myra Vitaglow. It’s a tinted moisturizer which contains minerals, Vitamin E and SPF 15. I didn’t hesitate to try this one because I trust Myra ever since.
And so, I checked it out in Watson’s and I was so happy that the price is still “reasonable” for me..:) It only costs around 135.00php so I grabbed one. The problem was, it has only 2 skin-tone colors: Ivory and Beige. I wasn’t pretty sure what to get since there’s no way to try or check. I tried the lighter one, Ivory, because I’m afraid that Beige would look dark on my face.
Then I gave it a try. It is placed in a tube container so it’s kinda tricky to control the amount of cream coming out. The cream is light and liquid-y and it smells like a baby powder which is really good. I didn’t have a hard time applying it to my face evenly because of the lightness of the cream. Indeed, it doesn’t feel heavy on the face and in just a matter of seconds, my skin absorbed the cream and the wet feeling is gone. I love how my face looked brighter. When I checked my face closely in the mirror I found that it has tiny glitters on it! At first I was afraid that I would look funny having a glittery face but when I paid attention to my whole face, I realized that it actually made my face look vibrant. The glitters are really really tiny and barely noticeable unless someone look closely at your skin.
I love how it saves time since it serves as a moisturizer, primer and foundation at the same time. I use it everyday for work. The brightness lasts for a day though I retouch it with a powder once in a while. Another thing is, it has an SPF15 so it protects your skin from sun damage. I love this product and I highly recommend this for you to try. It’s super worth it!

You seriously use the Nivea creme as a night cream? I always thought it was a moisturiser for the day. This creme used to be my first moisturiser ever, but it’s a bit greasy for my skin… Love your blog btw
great review..you’re quite right about nivea.cuz since today i started to use it as my night cream.but it hard to spread all over my face due to thickness of cream..
